Week of October 8th:
Chelsea Wolfe – Hiss Spun
Hiss Spun is the new album from Chelsea Wolfe. She continues going down a heavier sound that she was starting to explore more on Abyss. And she also gets me in the mood for autumn/Halloween.
Lawrence Arms – Apathy and Exhaustion
Speaking of autumn, there’s something about Lawrence Arms and this album that put me right in autumn. I don’t know if it’s when I bought this album or got into the Lawrence Arms, but it always takes me to fall. And walking around Logan Square back in 2005/2006, not lying to my parents about being in the city…
Lawrence Arms – Oh! Calcutta!
Again, it’s fall in Chicago, it’s time for Lawrence Arms. But, this is one of my favorite Lawrence Arms albums. It was great seeing this album performed live in its entirety at Riot Fest 2017.
Lawrence Arms – The Greatest Story Ever Told
Another great Lawrence Arms album to throw on the turntable, and sit back and enjoy. As said above, it’s crisp air, crunchy leaves music.
What I’m looking forward to listening to this upcoming week:
- St. Vincent – MASSEDUCTION
- Alvvays – Antisocialites
- Iron Chic- You Can’t Stay Here
